Balfour Beatty Rail rewarding the dedication of its employees.
Safety for all working with us and for us is the goal. And all help to reach it.
How many brilliant ideas have been realised in 2010 has been shown in the final competition in Berlin on
24th March 2011. Only the ten top ideas of the total more than 48 proposals were presented.
Sandro Paludi from Italy was awarded the first place for his new mobile elevating hybrid platform. Winning a Berlin Buddy Bear in ZERO HARM design and a cheque of 600 Euro. The mobile hybrid platform allows safe and comfortable working in a basket which exceeds the limits of traditional railway platforms. Due to the diesel- and electric motor it can work with the electric motor in tunnels and at night. Thus avoiding exhausting gas and diesel engine noise.
David Gregory from the UK and his light signal weighing only 25 kg, extremely easy handling by only two people was one of the runners-up. His price was a small Buddy Bear and a 300 Euro cheque.
Ralf Meyer from Germany was the other runner-up with his insulated conductor cover to keep safety distance to live cables. And he also received a small Buddy Bear and a 300 Euro cheque.
The total sum will be doubled by Balfour Beatty Rail GmbH and will be donated to the victims of the Tsunami and Earthquake in Japan.
